Denilson for sale on eBay..

Cheeky Arsenal fans have offered to help the club flog wantaway midfielder Denilson — by putting him up for sale on eBay!

The Brazilian has told boss Arsene Wenger he wants to end his five-year stay in London to join a club in Italy or Spain after failing to win silverware with the Gunners.

He said: "I am a winner and I came to Arsenal to win trophies but I've been here for five years and won nothing.

"A footballer's career is over very quickly so it is time for me to move on."

Denilson has played in 153 games and scored 10 goals during his time at Arsenal but no offers have been lodged for him.

The 23-year-old is much maligned by supporters because of his cautious style and fondness for sideways passes.

And he was further mocked after one statistic revealed just 31 per cent of his passes went in a forward direction.

He is behind Cesc Fabregas, Jack Wilshere, Alex Song, Aaron Ramsey and Abou Diaby in the Arsenal pecking order and a move away from the Emirates is inevitable.

Request for transfer
But with no firm interest of yet, one mischievous Gunners fan has decided to advertise Denilson's services on the internet auction site — with the opening bid starting at just £68.70.

The seller's description says Denilson has "160+ games on the clock, but don't worry, at no time was this player ever over exerted."

It continues: "In fact, he's so easy going, even podgy middle aged referees breeze past him in important games.

"He's technically sound, literally never seems to get injured, passes sideways with precision and vigour and would be perfect for a team that requires a slow defensive midfielder that is less mobile that a beached oil tanker."

Bidding for Denilson reached £15,000 but the listing has since been removed from eBay.

David de Gea arrives for Manchester United medical ahead of £18.3m move.

David de Gea is set to complete his £18.3 million move to Manchester United after arriving for a medical.

Trying to hide from media.

The Atletico Madrid goalkeeper has long been expected to complete a move to Old Trafford after he was identified by Sir Alex Ferguson as a fitting replacement for Edwin van der Sar.

De Gea, 20, arrived at Bridgewater Hospital on Monday following the conclusion of Spain's successful European Under-21 Championship campaign on Saturday and is now ready to put the finishing touches on his move to the Premier League champions.

The deal with both Dea Gea and Atletico Madrid has been agreed for some time but the conclusion of the move has been put on hold, largely due to a dispute with an agent.

De Gea felt the opportunity to join one of the biggest clubs in Europe was too good to turn down and chose to reject an offer to extend his Atletico Madrid contract beyond 2013.

Ferguson considered a move for Manuel Neuer or Maarten Stekelenburg but is convinced De Gea has the ability to be the club's No.1 for many years.

The deal takes United's summer spending to more than £50m following the the signing of defender Phil Jones from Blackburn and winger Ashley Young from Aston Villa.

Liverpool goalkeeper Pepe Reina believes his fellow Spaniard will be a hit in England despite his relative lack of experience.

“I very much welcome this news because David is a great keeper,” Reina told La Gaceta. “When it becomes official he is going to start working to prove in the Premier League what a good goalkeeper he is.”

De Gea, who has been compared to Real Madrid and Spain keeper Iker Casillas, broke into the Atletico side in 2009 before helping the club to win the Europa League last season and the Uefa Super Cup in August.

Nani confident of place at Manchester United despite Ashley Young arrival.

Manchester United midfielder Nani says he is confident he will not lose his first team place despite the arrival of Ashley Young.

United completed the signing of Young from Aston Villa last week for an initial fee believed to be in the region of £17 million, and the 25-year-old has immediately set his sights on securing a regular first team place.

But Nani, who missed out on a starting berth in the Champions League final despite winning United’s player of the season award last term, insists he does not see Young as a threat, and believes new signings can only help the club in the hunt for trophies going forward.

Nani welcomes Ashley Young to Man Utd
"Of course I have to welcome everyone they sign," he told reporters. "I think Manchester United is a fantastic club.

"When they bring in new players, they know if it is good for the team or not, and this signing has to help them. It is good for the team, we want more players to help us to win trophies.

"I've been at United when Cristiano Ronaldo was there. Cristiano was one of the best players in the world. At that moment I had no worries about him taking my place."
Nani: never worried about his place at all.

Villa announce Genting as shirt sponsor

Genting has become the jersey sponsor for a Barclays Premier League football

Its subsidiary, Genting UK, the largest operator of casinos in Britain, entered into an agreement to be the main jersey sponsor for Aston Villa for two years.

As part of the agreement, the Genting mark and logo will be featured on home and away Aston Villa jerseys.
The financial details of the agreement were not revealed.

Genting UK executive deputy chairman Peter Brooks in a press statement said the sponsorship was “a natural fit” and marked an important milestone in Genting's development as the group continued to expand its presence both within Britain and internationally.

The group began its association with Birmingham in the 1970s, where the club is based.

“The fact that Genting has strong local connections in addition to its international dimension makes this a good relationship for the club and we anticipate that it will work well as we embark on a new chapter for Aston Villa,” club CEO Paul Faulkner said.

Aston Villa, nicknamed the Villains is the fifth most decorated club in English football history with 19 major domestic honours and is one of only five British clubs to have won the European Cup.

Many Malaysian firms have sponsored English football teams prior to this with Proton being the first in 2004 when it sponsored Norwich City's jersey.

In 2008, AirAsia inked a three-year sponsorship deal to have its logo on all the jerseys of professional football referees in England.

The 18 year-old attacker spent time with United last season and 6cero.com says they now have first refusal on the youngster.

Henriquez is tied to Universidad de Chile, and United can exercise an option to sign the 18-year-old striker - dubbed a blend of Alexis Sanchez and Ivan Zamorano - anytime between now and 2014.

The fee agreed between the two clubs is for around £3.5million.

Although Chile disappointed in the competition and went out in the first round, 16-year-old Henriquez was the stand-out talent as he found the net in three of his four appearances.

His performances have definitely alerted the interest of Sir Alex Ferguson's side.

Free - spending Malaga sign Valencia winger Joaquin for £3.5m

Malaga have announced they have completed the signing of Valencia winger Joaquin for a fee of €4 million [£3.5m].

Joaquin
The Spain international has signed a three-year contract which will keep him at the club until June 2014.

The announcement of Joaquin's signing comes on the same day as Malaga formally presented Jeremy Toulalan, the most expensive transfer in the history of the club at €10m [£8.9m].

Jeremy Toulalan
Joaquin, who joined Valencia from Betis in 2006 for €25 million [£22.2], had been linked with a move away from the 2004 UEFA Cup winners after watching his importance in the squad begin to fade in recent times.

Diego Buonanotte
The 29-year-old has become Malaga's seventh summer signing, following in the footsteps of Diego Buonanotte, Ruud van Nistelrooy, Joris Mathijsen, Nacho Monreal, Sergio Sanchez and Toulalan.

With all these addition, I believe Malaga is the team to watch for next season!

Stephan Lichtsteiner to complete Juventus move this week

The agent of Lazio defender Stephan Lichtsteiner is confident that his client will become a Juventus player this week despite differences between the two clubs over his transfer fee.

The Swiss right-back has long been on the radar of the Old Lady and his agent, Federico Pastorello, revealed earlier this month that Lazio and Juve had reached an agreement.

Although Lazio president Claudio Lotito claims that Juventus have to pay the €12 million release (£10.6m) clause in his contract, which the Turin outfit are seemingly hesitant to meet, Pastorello believes an official announcement will be made in the coming days.

"This week I expect Lichtsteiner to join Juventus,” he told Radio Mana Mana. "I can confirm that there is a small difference between the clubs over an agreement, but I hope and believe a deal will be made."

Lichtsteiner, 27, joined Lazio from Lille in 2008 and has established himself as one of the best players in his position in Serie A.

Lindegaard wants number one Man Utd spot.

The Danish goalkeeper wants to prove he has what it takes to replace Edwin van der Sar and hopes to impress Sir Alex Ferguson after settling in at the club following winter switch.

Anders Lindegaard is hoping to secure his place in the Manchester United team by impressing boss Sir Alex Ferguson on the club’s pre-season tour of the USA.

Anders Lindegaard
The 27-year old Dane is set to swoop on the vacancy made by the retirement of Edwin van der Sar and is keen to push past fellow reserves Tomasz Kuszczak and Ben Amos when the club travels to the USA for their pre-season tour.

Tomasz Kuszczak
Ben Amos
“In the USA, it’s going to be especially important for the goalkeepers to play well because Edwin’s retired and the rest of us are fighting for that jersey,” he told the Manchester Evening News.

“I know it’s going to be a lot of hard work but I’m looking forward to it very much.”

And Lindegaard added that the pre-season trip is a great chance to really integrate into the environment of playing for such a big club.

“I’ve been to Florida twice for training camps with other sides but we didn’t play many games in America – certainly not big ones in sell-out stadiums. That’s going to be a great experience,” he added.

“Also, I know we’ll do a lot of promotional work in America as well and we’ll get to meet the fans. That’s only natural because we’re the biggest club in the world and America is a huge market.

“I’m enjoying my time in Manchester very much – more and more with each day that passes, actually. I’m a happy human being at the moment and that’s what life is all about.”

Man Utd boss Ferguson ready to battle Chelsea for Barcelona kid Thiago

Manchester United are monitoring Thiago Alcantara's situation at Barcelona.

Thiago Alcantara

El Mundo Deportivo says Thiago has concerns about his playing chances at Barca and is considering his options.

Thiago is understood to favour a move to London and Chelsea if he must leave Barca this summer.

However, United boss Sir Alex Ferguson is also keeping tabs on Thiago's situation and is having him watched at this month's U21 Euros - along with Spain teammate and Atletico Madrid goalkeeper David De Gea.

Ferguson is in the market for a young, defensive midfielder and could move for Thiago if Rennes continue to price Yann M'Vila out of a switch.
